Skint is not financial advice. We can help with the app — not personal financial planning.
Email support@getskint.co.uk — we read every message. For privacy-specific requests, use privacy@getskint.co.uk.
Where is my data stored?
Skint is a local-only app. Everything you enter — income, bills, subscriptions, debts, savings, transactions, profile, notes — lives on your iPhone. There are no Skint accounts and no cloud sync. Your iCloud backup (if you have one enabled in iOS Settings) will include Skint’s data alongside everything else on your phone.
How do I move Skint to a new iPhone?
Restore your new iPhone from an iCloud or encrypted Mac backup of the old one. Skint’s data comes across with the rest of your apps. There is no separate Skint export/import flow needed for this.
How do I back up or export my data?
In the app: Settings → Data → Export CSV. That gives you a single spreadsheet with all your records you can email to yourself or save to Files. We recommend doing this occasionally if you rely on Skint for serious record-keeping.
How do I delete all my data?
In the app: Settings → Data → Delete all data wipes every record but keeps the app installed and resettable. To remove the app entirely, long-press the icon on your Home Screen and tap Delete App — this removes Skint and all its data from the device.
Skint Pro — what do I get and how do I buy it?
Pro is a one-time purchase through Apple (not a subscription). It unlocks the Insights tab, Ask Skint with on-device AI on supported iPhones, Pro custom budget cards, and more polish. Pay once and it’s yours forever on any iPhone signed into the same Apple ID.
I bought Pro on another device — how do I get it back?
Open Skint → Settings → Subscription → Restore purchase. Apple will re-verify entitlement against your Apple ID and unlock Pro within a few seconds.
Refunds and billing.
All Skint purchases are processed by Apple. For refund requests, use Apple’s Report a Problem page, or see Apple billing support. We can’t issue App Store refunds directly.
Why does Skint not connect to my bank?
By design. Skint is a private, local tool — we deliberately don’t ask for bank logins or read your transactions. You log what you spend; Skint does the maths. No third-party API can see your accounts.
Is my data sold or used to train AI?
No. We don’t sell your data. Ask Skint runs on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device language model (or a rules engine fallback) — your questions and budget data never leave the device. See our Privacy policy.
Face ID / Touch ID lock isn’t working.
Check Settings → Security → Face ID (or Touch ID) inside Skint is on, then make sure iOS itself hasn’t blocked Skint’s biometric access: iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode → Other apps → Skint.
Notifications aren’t firing.
iOS Settings → Notifications → Skint — check Allow Notifications is on. Inside Skint, Settings → Notifications — check the master toggle and the specific reminder you’re expecting (bills, payday, weekly briefing, budget alert, streak). Bills and subscriptions only schedule once a renewal date is set on the item.
I found a bug or something looks wrong.
Please email support@getskint.co.uk with a screenshot if you can. Skint is a small operation; every report directly shapes the next update.
